It’s not even because I don’t have the patience to take time to set up ‘perfect conditions’, but because somehow just capturing the filthy moments in everyday life makes them beautiful… That’s what I love about photography. If I’d had to set up every scene? I’d rather spend that time painting the bloke, that way I can ‘PhotoShop’ everyone whilst I’m at it…”
Like everyone else, with the age of digital photography lowering the threshold, Jacqueline Huang got into photography by experimenting on holiday shots. Sending a selection of these to the university media group landed her a position as university photographer for the TU Delft.
Since then, moving from the journalistic repertoire, picture topics have been ranging from street scenes to fashion shoots. What’s worth mentioning is that all the pics throughout the years have been taken with a compact camera! “Taking sneaky snapshots just isn’t sensible with a two kilo DSRL ‘round one's neck…”
